Media Reform Conference

November 7-9, over 1,400 people gathered in Madison, Wisconsin for the National Conference on Media Reform, "a groundbreaking forum to democratize the debate over media policymaking."

Danny Schechter, of MediaChannel.org, reports from the scene, "Outside it's cold enough to stop the blood, but the conference is an impressive undertaking and so far great fun. It is impressive not only because so many people and organizations have paid their own way to come, but also because concern for the media is what brought them."

Paul Riismandel, of mediageek, blogged the opening remarks of the conference over at the Be The Media! Blog, which has fantastic coverage for those of us who didn't make the trip.
